  1. For everyone having a problem finding the htdocs folder, If you don't have one in your documents put it in the one where xampp is installed and all of this should work.

  2. Thank You Carl for the excellent instructions. Just one thing. After I downloaded the XAMPP software, I did not realize the htdocs folder was "inside" the XAMPP's htdocs folder and THAT is where I needed to copy the WordPress files into in order for my localhost to be able find these files. Afterward I would need to change the wp-config-sample file info to read as follows:

    The name of the database for WordPress
    (This is what you "named" your new database as in XAMPP? */
    define('DB_NAME', 'wordpressnew');

    /** MySQL database username */
    define('DB_USER', 'root');

    /** MySQL database password (leave this blank)Take out whatever is there… — */
    define('DB_PASSWORD', '');

    /** MySQL hostname */
    define('DB_HOST', 'localhost');

    /** Database Charset to use in creating database tables. */
    define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');
    _______________________________________

    And SAVE the wp-config-sample file as wp-config.php (as you so EXCELLENTLY explained).

    I think this may help some people who are having trouble accessing this localhost database after they have created it and keep getting an ERROR reading.

    Your video is GREAT!!!!!!

  3. how do i manage more than one website with wordpress? like i want to make websites for more than one company and set up wordpress to control them all. is there a way to do this?

  4. So you don't have to pay for a host server?

    Can other people view your website?

    What is the difference between having WordPress on your computer and paying for a host website?

    Thanks!

  5. really awesome work and i am using xp so there is no folder in my documents named as ht docs so after reading vasil comnt i have putted that downloaded wordpress in htdocs located in xampp where it is installed ! and after that doing same as what u r doing and finally i am saying thnx to ALMIGHTY

  6. Great job! I installed my WordPress. To be honest, when I saw the video for the first time I thought that there was no way to do this. It just took me 50 minutes and I did it.

    I would just like to clarify a few things: the folders “htdocs” pops up once you install Xampp. In my case it was located at the installation folder of Xampp. I encountered some issues installing the Xampp as well.

    Great job Carl! Thank you very much!!!

  7. You are AWESOME! Thanks for the video, the company I work for is just launching a new site and it is build using WordPress and I thought I'd learn how the app works because we will have full control of the site! Great video, Thanks!
